Community workshops & Enrichment
for dance organizations
I envision a dance world full of dancers and leaders who are not only strong and skilled, but respectful, clear, comfortable, and confident in their communication of their wants, needs, and goals. Building an efficient team within dance organizations is the best way to better our industry.
My community workshops, where I bring together students and faculty, are the most powerful way I’ve found to move towards this vision for the dance world.
Working with university programs, dance studios, etc. - I create a customized workshop based on the needs of your community. As a current professional dancer, I bridge the gap between student and faculty, creating an informative, collaborative, inclusive, and open environment for discussion, team-building, goal-setting, and more. Sometimes, all we need in the dance space to build a more positive learning & working environment is a reminder of our togetherness, a brainstorm, and time set aside to use our voices and share with one another.

“That was absolutely incredible. I feel so inspired and I think the kids really enjoyed it....In class I felt like both the students and myself were more intentional about how we worked and worked together. Thank you so much again. I would love to have this be something we continue together.”

“I had a great time and I think it was very helpful in connecting the faculty and students. I think these are important because it keeps our environment feeling safe, inclusive, and understanding. Thank you Bronwyn!”

“The workshop sounds amazing, and by (student) report it was stellar! Thank you for the opportunity! It reminds me of how at (local school district) public schools there has been a wonderful, explicit, proactive focus in the overall school culture on being an upstander, tapping into the student voice, and pursuing joy. I was reminded of all these initiatives when I read about & then heard about this ASB workshop. You are helping to raise the next generation! And special hats off to Bronwyn!”

I was really impressed with how (student) described it, including how Bronwyn was sure to point out everyone has the same goal! I really liked how Bronwyn seemed to have taken something challenging and kept it positive PLUS found a way to make a positive difference for others. And I was likewise impressed that ASB wanted to hear what the students have to say ! I think in general asking youth what they think is an under-utilized resource...I'm so proud...of ASB, and of Bronwyn for embracing a culture of open communication.

Your workshop will be

Personalized
I can present on and create activities to fit your goals. In past workshops I have covered team-building, intentional communication, inclusivity, goal-setting, mindset, and more.
-
Buildable
Typically, a series of workshops works best, to build true functionality. I want to get to know your community and hear from them to work towards an environment where everyone feels strong, valued, and respected.
-
Fun
I always end workshops with a game, where students and faculty will work together in teams so that everyone leaves with a sense of togetherness and shared joy.

-
Who am I? Why do I do this work? What is our focus today?
-
Educate on the focus points for the workshop. How do they apply in both the dance space & day to day life?
-
I create customized activities relating to each topic. These help everyone get involved, hear each others voices, and leave with tangible ideas for progress moving forward. I build participation comfort levels by using exercises with written responses, group work, and individual sharing.
-
I have used small group guided-discussion as well as full group scenario based discussion to brainstorm and work together on common problem solving & confidence building throughout the group.
-
Groups will compete in a fun, light-hearted game at the end of the workshop to leave with a strong feeling of togetherness and joy. In previous workshops I have created customized Jeopardy games for the group.
Pricing
Pricing can fluctuate depending on how customized your workshop is compared to my existing presentations (topics, group activities, group size, etc.).
A typical 2 hour workshop with my prep-work, materials, presentation, planning meeting time, etc. factored in will typically lie in the $1000-1500 range (not including travel if necessary). I’m happy to talk with you about your wants/needs and how I can make this work for your organization.
What’s the story?
I began this workshop-style community work while studying at Butler University. As a class-representative I was looking for ways to improve how the department communicated and overall treated each other with care and understanding. My goal was to optimize opportunities for growth, and in order to do that we had to work as a team. In under two years of implementing these workshops and other community/communication work, the department made numerous additions and adaptations to policies, procedures, and resources. My peers as well as leadership/faculty also became more motivated and connected than ever before, which in turn created a more positive learning/working environment.
Learning, working, and dancing in a strong and healthy environment leads to better results.
Putting a focus on community & wellness has proven to be important and useful to younger students as well, after my most recent workshop with Acton School of Ballet. As a current professional dancer, I am dedicated to doing everything I can to move the industry forward. Whether you are a dance studio, company, university program, or other arts organization, I’d love to talk with you about how we can maximize your community.
